House Washing and Window Spots in San Diego: Set the Right Scope
Understand the difference between San Diego house washing and detailed window cleaning, including rinse residue and existing mineral spots.

House washing is not detailed glass restoration
Exterior washing focuses on agreed wall and trim surfaces. Glass may receive incidental rinsing, but that is not the same as a separate window cleaning service. Existing mineral deposits, damaged glass and failed seals need different assessments. Define whether windows are simply protected and rinsed or included in a detailed cleaning scope.
Identify old marks before work begins
Sprinkler spots and longstanding deposits should be photographed before the visit. They may remain visible after ordinary rinsing. Some stains require specialized treatment that must be compatible with the glass and surrounding frames. Do not assume high pressure or a stronger house-wash solution is an appropriate correction.
Check frames, screens and seals
Tell the crew about leaking windows, loose screens and deteriorated sealant. Closed windows are important, but closure alone does not guarantee water-tightness. Avoid directing pressure into frame gaps. Any screen removal or interior access should be agreed separately instead of improvised while water is being applied.
Sequence services if clarity is the priority
If detailed window cleaning is planned, coordinate it after exterior washing where appropriate. This helps avoid washing residue landing on already-finished glass. Ask who is responsible for each service and how existing mineral stains will be handled. A written scope is more useful than promising a spot-free result from every house wash.
